About the Company: 

Founded in March 2009, Kookies by Keirsten was born out of a passion for baking that ran through my family, a cherished legacy from my mother and grandmother. What started as a homemade Elmo cookie for my preschooler's birthday quickly blossomed into a thriving business. Despite initial inexperience, my creativity and a cherished tea cake recipe laid the foundation for our success.

Over the years, my techniques improved, and the demand for my themed cookies grew, confirming that "there's always an occasion for a cookie." Balancing work, motherhood, and entrepreneurship was challenging, but my commitment to my passion led to the establishment of Kookies by Keirsten. Today, we are proud to have served over 5,000 cookies last year, gaining recognition from established firms and local celebrities alike.

 

About the Job:

Kookies by Keirsten is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Baker to join our dynamic team in Detroit. As a baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of delicious cookies, ensuring each batch meets our high standards of quality and creativity. You'll work in a supportive and creative environment where your love for baking can flourish.

We are looking for someone who is committed to their work. The ideal candidate should have a strong motivation to deliver their best work, a clear understanding of working in a team, along with communication and collaboration. If you have a passion for baking, a commitment to clear communication, and a drive to deliver exceptional cookies, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of cookies following established recipes and standards.

• Decorate cookies with creative designs and themes as required.

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.

• Ensure all baked goods meet our quality standards.

• Assist with inventory management and ingredient ordering.

• Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines.

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation.

• Food Handler's Certification is preferred but not required.

• Non-slip shoes for working in the kitchen.

• Willingness to be coachable and learn new techniques.

• Availability on Thursdays, Fridays, and some Saturdays.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for baking.

Compensation:

• $14 per hour

• 1099 Contractor position.

• 60-Day Probationary Period.
